Dos and Don’ts of Car Financing

Dos and Don’ts of Car Financing

car finnancingWhether you’re buying a car for the first time or the fiftieth time, it can be a scary process, especially since there are so many dos and don’ts of car financing you want to watch out for. Here are some things to do, and not do, before you head to the dealership and while you’re there.

1: DO research what car you want and what you can afford each month before you go in. You want to have an idea in mind about what you’re going to get, how much it will cost you each month, and how much insurance will cost, and then stick to that budget.

2: DO understand credit and how your credit score will factor into a bank’s decision to lend to you. If you have poor credit, look into dealership programs that can help you get approved for a loan or get a break on costs.

3: DO know whether you should buy or lease. Both have their benefits and downsides, so check out this page for more info.

4: DON’T go into the dealership without first researching loan options on your own. It’s better to go with a bank you trust and handle the financing yourself, but if you have trouble, the dealership may be able to find something for you.

5: DON’T trade in a car for less than what you owe on it. The rest of the amount owed will be combined with your new loan.

Bob Sight Drive 4UR School Event

Bob Sight Drive 4UR School Event

Bob Sight held a Drive 4UR School event on April 1st, which raised thousands of dollars for the Lees Summit North High School’s Booster Club.  They’re hosting another event on Saturday May 6th for the Lees Summit West Air Force Junior ROTC program. For every test drive taken in a Ford vehicle on that day, Ford will donate $20, up to $8,000 total, with up to $2,000 donated specifically for Ford Focus test drives.

Tons of potential buyers including young drivers came out in April to test drive Ford vehicles, including the 2017 Ford Escape, which was a popular choice thanks to its SYNC 3 capability and various driver assist technologies. With Apple CarPlay and Android Auto available as well as features like the Blind Spot Information System with Cross Traffic Alert, Adaptive Cruise Control with Brake Support, and Parking Assist, the Ford Escape is the perfect choice for families with new drivers.

The Escape’s SYNC 3 with voice recognition lets you connect your phone through the infotainment system and control it with your voice, so you don’t have to take your eyes off the road. If you have a teen driver, you know the fear of them texting while driving, and this is the perfect way to curb it.

We hope to see a lot more test drivers at Lees Summit West on May 6th! It’s YOUR chance to test drive a Ford Escape as well! For more information about hosting a Drive 4UR School event for your school, or to learn more about the Ford Escape, call us today at Bob Sight Ford!

Ford Bringing F-150 Diesel to Market in 2018

Ford Bringing F-150 Diesel to Market in 2018

F-150 Diesel
Ford will finally be making a diesel version of the popular F-150. The redesigned 2018 F-150 diesel will be available with a new Power Stroke 3.0-liter V6.

For generations, the Ford F-150 has offered excellent power and towing capabilities. It has done so behind the strength of many different engine types. However, there is one engine option that the F-150 has never offered – diesel. Until now, that is.

After 70 years, Ford will finally be making a diesel version of the popular F-150. According to Ford, the redesigned 2018 F-150 diesel will be available with a new Power Stroke 3.0-liter V6. The F-150 will join the Ram 1500 as the only two trucks in their class to offer a diesel option. While power and fuel economy ratings for the diesel F-150 haven’t been announced, Ford expects the truck to be popular with customers who buy their trucks for towing.

Along with a diesel engine option, the 2018 F-150 will also be getting a styling update. With new grille, headlight and taillight designs that are similar to the ones on the latest F-Series Super Duty, the 2018 F-150 is sure to be an attention grabber.

The 2018 Ford F-150 is scheduled to go on sale this fall. Be sure to visit Bob Sight Ford when it does!
