Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 rocketed into theaters this past May to the enthusiasm of audiences everywhere, and Ford teamed up with Marvel to drop a new commercial for the brand’s upcoming Ford EcoSport SUV. The new ride won’t be coming to the Ford SUV lineup until 2018, but it’s hard to resist getting a bit excited over its launch with a pint-sized, adorable Groot sitting in the passenger seat – and watching the SUV hold its own against some of the slick, sci-fi spaceships featured in the commercial.
An all-new entry to Ford’s portfolio, the 2018 EcoSport is a compact SUV designed to be aerodynamic and sporty on the outside, spacious and versatile on the inside, and packed with an even balance of high-tech connectivity and capable driving dynamics. Plus, with tons of available features from Intelligent 4WD to an 8-inch touchscreen, the EcoSport will have something for everyone. And it’s exactly that kind of athletic and futuristic appeal that helps the EcoSport fit in with the Guardians of the Galaxy universe.

“Bullitt” premiered in 1968 and spawned one of the most dynamic duos of all time: Steve McQueen and a 1968 Mustang GT. What many casual movie fans don’t know is that there were actually two identical Mustangs on set. One was kept in pristine condition and is currently under the ownership of a private collector. The other was beat up during the movie’s chase scene and made its way to the wrecking yard.
That’s what most fans thought, anyway.
Now it seems the second Bullitt Ford Mustangmay be alive and well, or as well as a 1968 Mustang GT can be. Fede Garza posted pictures of a Mustang that’s eerily similar to the one used during the chase scene. It appears the car has found its way to Mexico, although the exact location is currently under wraps.
Further evidence that the 1968 Highlander Green Mustang GT is indeed the one that was supposedly scrapped is the Vehicle Identification Number. As it turns out, the number is a match. Kevin Marti, an expert on classic Ford vehicles, is set to validate the car’s authenticity in person. Should it be the real deal, odds are a full restoration will take place and the second Bullitt Ford Mustang will take to the streets once again.
We here at Bob Sight Ford have our fingers crossed!
The 2017 North American Auto Show in Detroit is one of the most esteemed auto shows in the world, with many brands saving reveals of updated models of their popular nameplates for the show in order to get more attention. However, the new Ford Mustang Convertible chose to pass up on a Detroit reveal to prevent getting lost in the media frenzy surrounding the event. Instead, Ford chose to unveil the 2018 model a week later.
Ford didn’t skip the Detroit auto show completely. The standard hardtop 2018 Mustang made its debut at NAIAS, which gave enthusiasts a good idea of what the convertible variant would look like. With similar styling cues like an updated exterior, standard LED lights, and a 12-inch driver display behind the wheel, the two models share a lot of cool features. Of course, there’s nothing quite like the leisurely, opulent vibe of a convertible top.
For 2018, the Ford Mustang convertible will be dropping its usual V6 engine in favor of a more innovative 2.3-liter turbocharged EcoBoost engine, which has already been offered as an option in the past. It will also continue to feature the available V8 engine. The coupe and convertible models will go on sale together in the fall, but pricing has not yet been announced.
For generations, the Ford F-150 has offered excellent power and towing capabilities. It has done so behind the strength of many different engine types. However, there is one engine option that the F-150 has never offered – diesel. Until now, that is.
After 70 years, Ford will finally be making a diesel version of the popular F-150. According to Ford, the redesigned 2018 F-150 diesel will be available with a new Power Stroke 3.0-liter V6. The F-150 will join the Ram 1500 as the only two trucks in their class to offer a diesel option. While power and fuel economy ratings for the diesel F-150 haven’t been announced, Ford expects the truck to be popular with customers who buy their trucks for towing.
Along with a diesel engine option, the 2018 F-150 will also be getting a styling update. With new grille, headlight and taillight designs that are similar to the ones on the latest F-Series Super Duty, the 2018 F-150 is sure to be an attention grabber.
The 2018 Ford F-150 is scheduled to go on sale this fall. Be sure to visit Bob Sight Ford when it does!
The popular Ford Fiesta is getting a brand-new look! The redesigned 2017 Fiesta was revealed by Ford, showcasing the new version in Cologne, Germany before an audience of over 4,000 onlookers. The new look adds a more modern, sporty flair to the Ford Fiesta, which has sold over 17 million units since it launched in the 70s.
The model shown in Germany will be built at the factory in Cologne, Ford representatives said, without mentioning when the vehicle will be making its U.S. debut.
Meanwhile, the 2017 Ford Fiesta with its new design will be available to European drivers as of next summer as part of an agreement with the German Works Council. The model will be available in four trim levels, called the Titanium, ST-Live, Vignale, and the Active, with the last being a crossover model. The 2017 Fiesta’s three-cylinder engine will be the first of its kind to offer cylinder deactivation for reduced emissions and better efficiency. Additionally, the interior will be more open and filled with modern tech.
The redesigned 2017 Fiesta will surely make its way stateside, thanks to the incredible popularity of the subcompact among millennial drivers. The addition of a crossover model to the lineup will also attract attention in the U.S., where the SUV and crossover segment is exploding in popularity for young families.
So What Does Torque Mean, Exactly? We’re Happy to Answer
There are so many different terms and abilities associated with the automotive industry that sometimes it can be hard to keep up. Even if you consider yourself well-versed in cars, there is one term that many of us struggle with: torque.
What does torque mean, and what does it do?
Torque loosely refers to the car’s turning power, which causes your car to accelerate. And when you are look at a vehicle’s specifications and it tells you the maximum amount of torque, it is referring to the maximum torque of the internal combustion engine.
To put it even simpler, torque should be important to you because it refers to how quickly your car can drive really, really fast. If a vehicle can accelerate from zero to 60 mph in about four seconds, then it has amazing torque abilities.
Lastly, torque is not the same thing as horsepower. In fact, horsepower is a combination of torque and engine ability, letting you know in one simple number just how generally powerful a vehicle is. For many, this number is easier to keep in mind than torque.
Still confused? For more information on torque–or to check out our many available vehicles with exceptional torque–contact us or visit us at Bob Sight Ford.

Ford volunteers recently rolled up their sleeves to make the world a little greener during Ford Accelerated Action Day. Every year, Ford takes some time off to give back to various communities around the country, specifically working on eco-friendly projects. In addition to volunteering, Ford also gave more than $55,000 in grants to help fund various projects.
Ford put together a massive list of projects for Accelerated Action Day, ranging from a Lake Erie cleanup to landscaping and education programs. Over 20 different non-profit organizations participated in the events, and more than 700 Ford employees volunteered. In total, 49 projects were completed.
“Protecting our natural resources is a critical part of creating a better world,” said Janet Lawson, director, Ford Volunteer Corps. “We’re building and planting in sustainable ways and the e-waste recycling drive goes a step further to keep potentially hazardous electronics out of landfills.”
Ford also put together a massive e-waste cleanup project, collecting more than 75,000 pounds of materials from old computers, cell phones, and printers. Ford is also putting together a Ford Global Caring Month in September, cleaning up the environment and starting a long month of events. In fact, more than 30,000 volunteers are set to participate in over 1,700 projects across six continents.
